Guardiola has Man City threaten Man Utd plans for €100M Griezmann


Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is jumping straight into the scramble for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

The France international turned down a transfer to Manchester United during the summer, choosing to stay with Atletico after realising FIFA's transfer ban would prevent them from purchasing a replacement.

However, Griezmann is now primed to leave in 2018, with his contract's buyout clause set to fall from €200m to €100m.

United are expected to undertake again, but will face competition from City, says Diario Gol.

Guardiola is really a fan of Griezmann and also has given City chiefs the green light to maneuver to the Frenchman, who could be offered a deal much like what Sergio Aguero is earning.

Making things much more complicated for United is Real Madrid, where president Florentino Perez is likewise set to compete for Griezmann's signature.
